Daria tells you about Domus de Janas
Domus de Janas, which in Sardinian means "house of the fairies", has always belonged to our family. For many years it was simply our holiday home, a special place I am deeply attached to, even though I was born in Rome.
It is one of the first homes ever built in Santa Teresa Gallura, in a privileged position on one of the highest points of the promontory, next to the square overlooking the sea. Originally it was the residence of the customs officer, one of our ancestors, who from here could watch and control the boats passing through the waters of the Strait of Bonifacio.
In 2008, driven by my work as a teacher of Italian for foreigners and by a deep love for this land, I decided to turn the house into a residence dedicated to those who wished to learn the Italian language while at the same time experiencing the sea and nature of Sardinia.
The enthusiasm shown also by many Italian guests encouraged us to open, in 2009, a proper Bed & Breakfast. Since then the house has been extended and renovated to offer an ever more comfortable welcome: the bathrooms have been completely refurbished, four new ones have been built and all the rooms have been fitted with air conditioning and soundproof double glazing, to guarantee maximum comfort throughout the stay.

We believe the true beauty of things lies in the relationships between people. At Domus de Janas we have always lived by this beauty and harmony.
"Home is where the heart is."
